WebMeter/FAQ

Before you measure your website.

Answers to what people most often ask before having their website measured.

May I check someone else’s website? Won’t it do any harm?

The check reads only publicly available information, just like an ordinary visitor or a search engine, and puts only a minimal load on the website. It doesn’t try to break in, doesn’t fill in forms and respects robots.txt.

Does a good score mean the website is secure?

Not entirely. An external check verifies basic security and configuration. It won’t reveal bugs inside the application or weak passwords — that’s what a penetration test is for.

What happens to the result?

It is saved at a private link that cannot be guessed. You can download the PDF within 30 days, and the report is deleted after one year at the latest. We never send it to anyone ourselves.

How many websites can I check?

Up to 6 different websites in 10 days from one IP address, free of charge. You can check the same website repeatedly, for example after fixes.
